Goodbye to Carla

Today I said goodbye to a 1984 Citroen 2 CV club which I had the pleasure of owning and driving and appreciating for two years. Named Carla, for Carla Bruni, and what a good car name, she will live in Barnet, VT and I have visiting and driving rights next spring. How cool is that.
Here she is when she first arrived and then her last day, and some days in between.

Campobello Island, FDR cottage, again, sunsets and crafts

Images in Maine

We visited the Lubec, Eastport area of Maine, the easternmost land in the US, discovered a mustard factory, ate lots of seafood, stopped at lighthouses and took a couple of bad selfies while we were there.

A visit to the Rangely Lakes

The Rangeley Lakes Trust has a nice campground on Cupsuptic Lake, complete with loons and sandy beach and good fishing. This site was too close to the other campers, there were too many dogs as usual, there were too many wild and unruly kids, and there was no cell coverage. The good news was  that the showers were nice and the pavilion had wifi. We traveled around on back roads, found a B 17 crash site, hiked trails in a wildlife sanctuary, discovered waterfalls on the Cupsuptic river, canoed and fished the Cupsuptic Lake at sundet, and enjoyed a meal at the Loon Lodge on Rangeley lake.
