Sugaring Soon

Last year we were boiling in early April. Our buckets are hung and we are waiting for the sap to fill them. We have plenty of snow so the gathering will be more difficult, on snow shoes, etc. The pathways are cleared for the Kubota to carry the gathering tanks around and the pump. This is our spring ritual that really lets us know that winter is over. The early birds will be here soon, grackles (ick) already, and the redpolls just don't want to go.
And so it goes......

Always in the sun, watching over his world, with us in it.

Last summer  (2014) when the sunflowers were in bloom, Woodrow was in the sun, his favorite place to be, and John commented on the sunflowers. Woodrow agreed.
