New Year Surprises.

 It was only supposed to be replacing the windows. The wall was very rotten and had to be replaced. First surprise.

The New Christmas Look

The snow came and went, all 12 inches of it. Rain washed it away. But more is on the way. In Brownington the snowshoes were trimmed by Jeffrey Gonyaw at Nature By Design. These were the best that we could do, but I like them. Picked the greens on the property, used an old plaid scarf and some cones from a garland that fell apart. Fairy lights on them look nice at night. So I guess this is our new rustic look. When the snow returns, these
 will look more appropriate. And we may get to actually use them.

Dorset Farmer's Market

 The meat from Lewis Waite Farm in NY is one of our favorite features, fresh bread from Earth Sky Thyme bakery, apples from NY and loads of other stuff.

And of course the music, and the kitchen store itself. Everything you can imagine. Pricey but you can find things marked down.

 One of the first things we did when we started spending time in Arlington was to explore the farmer's markets. The one in Dorset VT, next door to Manchester, is a fine, rather upscale one, located in the production space of J. K. Adams kitchen store. Every sunday except Easter, from 10-200 we found everything we needed almost.

 In summer the market is located outdoors up the
road on the grounds of Williams store. The number of farms, markets, and good damn food is quite amazing and very satisfying to us. My gardening days might be over, but I will enjoy what we can get right around here.

Actually we will have a garlic and herbs growing at the house, maybe a tomato plant. Very good to be here.

THE NEW OWNERS OF SOUTH WIND FARM

On Nov. 27, 2019 we sold  South Wind Farm to Alex and Jennifer Rodriquez of Abington, PA. The smiles on everyone's faces lasted all day long. Their kids are Joe and Olivia and dogs, Bruno and ....?

We couldn't be happier that they found a place that captured their idea of a farm in Vermont.  We have not quite realized that is true. Our Thanksgiving is full of positive hope for our new life in southern Vermont and their new life in the country. We will visit them in the spring in time for the gardens to flower. 

They have interest in using the greenhouse, growing vegs and flowers and putting food by. The kids are interested in traveling in Quebec and making crafts. We have much we can share with the family...gives us a good feeling.
